Felix pauses, head tilting to hide the fact that the back of his neck is prickling uneasily right now. Harrowheart was relaxing for a minute there- so what's wrong? What did he say?

Rather than ask outright and make an Issue of it, he draws a slow breath, leans his palms on the table where they can be seen. Peers up at Harrow and keeps talking. Will a polite smile help?

"Excellent. You're the one bound to these weapons, after all - the one who knows them. When I start, I think you'll be just as aware of what I'm doing as they are. I don't know how much influence you'll have in the bargaining, but at the least you'll certainly understand their reactions better than I could."

There's far too much conjecture involved in all this, no easy path trodden for him by previous conjurers. That's exciting and unnerving at once.

"So, the important question: are you decided about the pact you want?"
