Date: 2017-01-09 07:56 pm (UTC)Jim relishes the warmth in his arm and in their clasped hands as they walk along the very well maintained road heading toward the Imperial City. His gaze flits to the lake and he imagines children crowding their father while he teaches them to fish. Couples swimming and picnicking along the water's edge.
It had been easier to play along with the crew's Christmas wishes this year. He'd even attended the party briefly this time to give a toast and get the party started. He's still reminded of dark things, but they don't leave him nearly as empty as they once did.
Someone else has begun filling the holes left in his heart.
"Oh really? That eccentric or that judgmental?"
